and the beet goes on

yea, we got the beet! Posted by Hello

Hi. I am back from my vacation away from my computer. No, no actual vacation, but I have been rather internet inactive for the past week or so. That explains but does not excuse the unanswered e-mails and my disappearance from the world of AIM.

I've been spending my time working, going to school, and hanging out. My two friends Karina and Sharon were home last week (sadly, just one week!) and I went on adventures with them to IKEA, to watch the movie "Saved!" (with Lillian too), and to eat Indian food. Now they are back at their respective colleges.
Gaurav was in Santa Monica. He contacted me about a week ago but I haven't heard from him since. I'm not sure if he is still around for me to visit with him.

I saw the greatest shirt the other day at Target. Apparently they are now carrying yum popshirts. I couldn't find the one I saw to post, so you get a beet instead. The one there was an apple core with a face and underneath it read "hard core." I couldn't stop laughing at it. They also had a "give peas a chance one." I stopped myself from buying it as I really don't need any t-shirts but I am a sucker for the cute and may return.

Other notes:

While at Pasadena City College, I walked around to watch the contruction of the new parking structure while waiting for my class. To my surprise I discovered a bronze horse sculpture just like the one at Whitman. This made to oddly excited. That was a while ago and today I stumbled upon a book about Deborah Butterfield, the artist, while looking for a book on printing inks. I did not know that much of her work is cast at the Walla Walla Foundry. I think that I am more impressed with my home/Walla Walla when I am away from either one.

After kicking myself repeatedly for deleting "King for a Day" by Green Day from my computer, I discovered that I had downloaded it before I had this computer. Now all I have to do is transfer my old school music from my old one.

Yesterday, in my graphic communications class, which is basically a class about the history of print, I learned what a camera obscura is.

The best part about working my 1 day working at the candy store at Universal was getting to listen to the Willy Wonka soundtrack repeatedly.

It's mixed CD time again. This time I do not have any theme in mind. Normally I revolve my mix around an object or idea rather than an emotion. For example, my past mixes have included fruit, day vs. night, summer, and travel. I might challenge myself this time around.
