Doesn't have a point of view

Pat moved his drum kit into the MECCA's basement. Rock. The basement is alive with the sound of music.
Okay, that was cheesy. Or chessy if you are in the class of 2003. We can never let Jonathan off the hook for that one. Anyway, sometimes I wish that people visited the basement more often. Maybe they will now.
Back to my geothermal energy report. I realize that I have enough information to fill a 30 minute presentation. Now I have to get busy cutting.
Before I forget, I called in to Scott's radio show today and requested "Los Angeles, I'm Yours" by the Decemberists. Thanks again Elizabeth for telling me about the band. I have determined that the reason why I didn't like Interpol over the summer was because they have the type of music that is perfect to listen to while working on your homework at 2:00 in the morning. It's no good on a bright, sunny California day.
Brand new fiend!
Ok. I was just looking up at my calendar that Xi gave me for Christmas. I don't know why it took me so long to notice the photo. The caption reads Torrey Pines State Park, La Jolla Coast. Is that why he picked out a calendar of California scenes? Xi!! I can't believe I left something that said Torrey Pines on it on my wall for so long. Where are those pictures icezorro?

fool on the hill
Hi everyone! I realize that it has been quite a while since I've written in here. Well, I finished my first organic chemistry test and survived. Whew. Tonight is the Global Nightclub, a dance put on my the International Students and Friends club. I'm planning on checking that out. Tomorrow, the MECCA is putting on an International Potluck. I'm even more excited about that. Yum! International food.
My radio show status is not looking good. It's quite likely that I will be giving it up if they allow me to do that. I don't think they can force me to stay. I could have my own show, but I wouldn't feel right playing anything but the Beatles. 4 songs in 3 hours by the Beatles is just not doable. That means I wouldn't even be able to take 4 requests. I don't own enough covers to do anything else.
Now, I have so much Beatles music and no use for it.
If anyone out there wants some Beatles music, let me know. I'm working on coming up with a new way of spreading the Beatles' joy.
I got a package a couple of days ago from Karina. It was a bag from Ecuador. It rocks. You rock. Thanks!
I'm trying to have ACA make boba (or as they call it, pearl tea) for the campus. I feel like Syl making apple pie.
Experiment #1 resulted in burned boba.
Maybe I'll post a photo of the bottom of the pan later. When I'm done with this, I'm returning to my experiments.
My parents are in Welches, Oregon right now. That's only 4 hours away from me. I hope they are having fun.

share
Hello. I know it has been a while. My week has been nice. The weather today is simply perfect.
Today I got a package from my mom and dad containing carob bars which I was ordered to share. If anyone was in the house right now, I would give them to them for snack/study time.
Yesterday we had a bin-nic. All the interest houses bring their bins to the park for a picnic.

early morning mutterings
It's no longer the early morning, but it was when I thought of what to write in today's blog.
I woke up today to do the laundry. Lately I've been troubled because I haven't been wanting to listen to music. For a person who feels like her life is defined by music, this is a concern. The Presidents of the United States of America's song about the frog jumping on the stage was in my head when I woke up. Maybe it was a sign that Karina was going to call.
Because of this song in my head, I put my velvet teen cd into my computer. Ahh, how nice it was to hear a cd again. Whenever I listen to it, I am reminded of the time that Jewett went to the college cabin. It was dark out and pouring down rain. I rode in Sarah's car squished between Becky and Tom. Tom brought the cd to play in the car, but everyone objected to it except for me. It felt so warm in the car because we were all bundled up and carrying pillows in preparation for sleeping at the cabin. I love riding in cars, especially in the dark and especially in the rain.
Last night I went to play Bingo with my housemates. It was awesome. I now proudly own a bingo dauber-- a ink tube used to dot the bingo cards. The people there said they couldn't believe that people our age would go to bingo. When we left, one woman told us that we need to go find some boys.
The night before that, I went over the the Asian Studies House for their Moon Festival dessert potluck. I made kanten with Mandarin oranges. They forced me into playing red rover with them. It's a pretty bizarre and painful game. They also talked me into going over to the TEK (japanese house) to watch Lilo and Stich. I was shivering when I came back and I felt very weak. I took a long shower in the upstairs bathroom and deduced that I had a fever. I was a little scared but I woke up feeling much better.
That's my weekend story. Time for that enviro essay that I talked about earlier. Tomorrow I'm going to Umatilla National Forest with my class. I'll tell you, dear blogger, about it later.
Oh! One more thing. I got a radio show but it turns out I can only play 3 songs/hour by the same artist. So much for Breakfast with the Beatles. I'm still going to try it by alternating between solo work and group work. E-mail me if you have any suggestions on what I can do the save my show.

whoo for the weekend
The weekend is here. Whoo!
This also means that I should begin my environmental studies paper. I hate having papers due on Mondays.
Today I got my molecule set through campus mail. Only I true nerd would be as excited as I was over a pricey children's toy. Here's a photo of the beautiful molecular bracelet that I built this afternoon. Yeah, I just stuck the purple and orange ones on for color.
Yes, within a month I will likely wish that I never saw this molecule set.
That's about all the news for today. I feel sick. I hope I'm not catching something.

Check it out. I never noticed this uploading picture button before. This does the work for me. Awesome. This is my room. Well, just my banana sitting on my bed. See that picture next to him? That's a photo of the Jellies! My room
Shag!
Ok, I honestly was not going to write in my blog tonight because I am really getting behind in my homework.
Guess what happened?!?!?!
I HAVE INTERNET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Thank you Chris for configuring it correctly for our house. Not only that, but I was looking at the Shag website for a new nifty desktop background. OH my gosh! Shag has done special artwork for the Disneyland Tiki Room, my second favorite attraction at Disneyland. I like it so much that I used to have the music downloaded on my computer. If I were at home, I would definately try to make it there on the 20th. Shag is going to be there for signings. I always thought that no one remembered the tiki room and that it would be the next attraction to be shut down. Yeah for the revival and for new Shag art.
I remembered what I wanted to write yesterday. Suddenly the weather has gone from sunny to dreary. The all day rain was nice but now it's just blah. I miss wearing shorts.
I've had Sophie Ellis Bexter in my head for the last 2 days. Now, I can finally hear her. Whoo hoo. Internet dance party in my room.

Noodles
Hello! Yesterday was the first meeting of the Vietnamese Culture Club. Viet made Pho. I helped a little and now I think that I might actually be able to make it. If not, I can at least boil chicken for soup. The meeting, as usual, was a lot of fun. I'm now even more excited for this year.
Yesterday, I also discovered that Eric knows the band Triple Nipple. Not only has he heard of them, but his friend is friends with them. Gah! I hope you are reading this Lillian.
Tonight the MECCA is eating dinner together for the first time. We are also having our first program, prayer flag making. Yeah for the MECCA.
Yesterday, I felt like I had a ton to write in a blog. Now that I am here, I can't think of anything. Too bad.

So much news...
so little access to the internet. I feel like that sentence was really poor grammar. Right now, I'm in the wonderful Whitman library. Yep. This is my current distraction from my environmental studies essay.
Oh, poor journal. How I have longed to update you. Here is my big complaint that everyone that I know has already heard once or twice.
I HAVE NO INTERNET.
I moved into the lovely MECCA (Multi Ethnic Center for Cultural Awareness) on August 30. I am having a great time with my fellow housemates. I love it there. EXCEPT..... the school is doing nothing to try to fix our wireless internet. They say that my computer is having problems.
My computer is plenty well adjusted. It doesn't need any serious help, as they claim. I love you, computer! I know that they are telling lies.
Now, I am a little worried that someone from WCTS will read this. Please don't come after me, I am just an extremely frustrated internet addict.
This should explain any unanswered/short e-mails and my absence from AIM.
Although I know that he won't see this, I keep wondering how Johnny's show went. It has been so long since I've talked to him. Johnny, I hope it went well.
Other than that, school is keeping me busy. Like I said, the MECCA is a blast. My classes seem fairly cool. That is the state of me. My internet connection on the other hand....
Just kidding. I'll stop there.
Hey, by the way. If you are named Xi and you are reading this, I have a request from you. Can you please send me the pictures from the concert? I have had dreams about them being tragically lost.
