Doesn't have a point of view

Which of these shoes are not like the others?
The plain, dull, solid white one, in case you couldn't tell.
Today, I went to Universal Studios for my job interview. I am now going to work retail inside the park. This is exciting to me, as I have never worked before. Today, I also got to drive on the freeway all by myself for the first time. Guess what? I survived. Take that mom and dad. :)
While I waited for my interview, this guy about my age tried to talk to me. It made me less nervous to talk to someone. He told me that he had worked as a grocery bagger for 2 years and hated it. He also told me a bagger secret. He said that he always smashed bread and if he didn't like the customer, he would squeeze their bananas. Worse yet, his managers taught him this "trick." Now I am warned. If your bananas are bruised, think back to your grocery store bagger person and take note.
Anyway, going back to the materialistic focus of my journal as of late, I was going to talk about shoes.
Good thing: I have a job.
Bad thing: I have to purchase all white shoes.
If you know me (my live journal name is the shoe girl for that reason among others), then you know that I take great pride in my shoes. I like my shoes to have lots of color and, more importantly, lots of character. Therefore, I cannot stand to buy plain white shoes. To counter the boredom of white, I thought of buying a cool brand of shoe like converse or vans. Then I realized that I cannot stand to pay $50 for plain white shoes when the money could go toward high tops that match the colors of my blog (see above).

I don't have work for another week, so freedom (in other words, lots of movies) til then.
Today I watched two very different, but both enjoyable, movies. The first was "Drumline." As a sort of drummer, I was amazed by the drum and dance sequences. I was also impressed by all of the practice and choreography that must have gone into the film. Also, the forver 7-Up spokesperson guy, Orlando Jones, did an excellent job in a dramatic role. One of the best parts was the short step sequence performed by the love interest's sorority. A group called step africa came to whitman last year. Before that I did not know what stepping was. Now that I do, I am just amazed by it.
The second movie, "the secretary" was even better and I would highly recommend it. It is a story about love and discovery. In a way, it is like "Harold and Maude." Some how, I felt like I was able to identify with the character. In that, I am not in any way trying to say that I understand what it's like to be a masochist or that my life is as difficult as hers. There was just something in her that reminded me of myself.
It seems like over these 2 days, my friends are on the move.
My parents are gone to Colorado.
Tuan's leaving to cannery work in Alaska.
Eric's off to New York.
And Huyen (and Prawin?) should be in our house by now.
Tomorrow, out on the town (and to the library) in Pasadena.
