paper returned
I already got my paper back. Now I remember why going to school is not always such a happy thing. Somehow I forgot to follow instructions and to include a required feedback sheet even though I had it all ready to attach.

I'm not sure why I feel so upset about this when I knew that the paper wasn't my best writing and I knew that Deborah was a tough grader. Really, only 1.5 more points and I would have been at a B.
The thing that made me most upset was that she handed back the papers in folders with our full names on them. She had my middle name on there but had mispelled my first name. I was thinking that maybe this was intentional to show how professors feel when students fail to listen to their clear guidelines. I doubt that, but it would almost make me feel better.

Now I have to worry about doing this rewrite and studying for instrumental. The good thing is that now I actually feel challenged to improve on this paper where as before I didn't really care.

That's it. I know that this is a boring entry and it is probably making my mom worry about me, but I needed to write it down. Mom, don't worry about me. I'll talk to you soon.

my bicycle
Today I had a great bicycle adventure. For my enviro psych class, I rode around Walla Walla to survey people about how they keep up yellowhalk creek which runs through their backyards. I didn't fall off my bike and I got to see a new part of town. Lina, my fellow surveyer, pointed out the differences in architecture of all the houses. The people in town were all very gracious and allowed us to talk to them and even look at the creek.

There's my story. Eric found me a recipe for apple sour cream bars which I may consider making. I'm still trying to decide the best use for my sour cream. I don't want to make something that I don't like.

While I'm at it, last night Eric and I went to see Mitch and Adam's Musical Adventure in Kimball. It was the guys that made me my breakfast with the beatles theme song last year. They, along with their fellow players, were hilarious whether they intended to be or not. Unfortunately it was not well advertised and the only Whitman kids there were us, Oliver, Kevin, Kate, and Travis. Yeah, all the cool people. The best part was that we all received free kazoos. Woo woo.

sunny day
Today was such a lovely day.

I was supposed to be doing homework. I got up and cleaned the floor with vinegar. Then, I went to Farmer's Market to get fresh sourdough bread, plums, and cucumbers. Yummm.

Then I visited Eric and Elizabeth on the radio. I found the velvet teen and rilo kiley albums. Yea!

Yesterday, I got a happy package from my parents and my aunt in Idaho. It included apples, cherry tomatoes, homegrown carrots, a bird pen, a pokemon bobblehead, and chocolate cover ginger and orange peel. The biggest surprise was the cherry cordials fresh from Idaho Falls.

Tuan's over and brought a watermelon. Unfortunately it turned out to be white inside. Now we don't know what to do with it.

Andy's making mooncakes soon. I can't wait to taste my first fresh-baked mooncake. There's going to be lotus seed and mung beans inside. Oh!

Wow, I feel like my journal is becoming Elizabeth's food and music blog. If you are hungry, don't visit www.chocolateandzucchini.com. Everything is well photographed and looks delicious, but most of it is sold in France. Oh, food come to me.

Now I feel bad making fun of Chau for riding her bike to the RCC. I'm now riding mine everywhere too.

P-chem and mooncake watching time.

gorditas
My paper is slowly draining my life away from me. Don't feel sorry. This time, it is really my fault. Sometimes, it feels good to write a paper when you have made a clear arguement and drawn up some conclusions. I did not accomplish that. Therefore, the paper felt bad. I felt bad writing the paper.

You can tell that I am working on very little sleep.

Today, instead of having instrumental class, Professor Dunnivant treated us all to La Monarcha, the taco truck. They were out of sopes, so I had an adobada gordita. It was delicious. I did not know that gorditas are the same a sopes, only stuffed. Umm...

Elizabeth wants to have a dance party in the science building. Rocka shicka. She washed my glassware today so that I could finish up my paper. Thanks Elizabeth!

halloween
Tomorrow is my first Beatles show of the year and I'm already lazy about planning it.
Since last year, I have wanted to be a groupie/band-aid for Halloween this year. I want to pretty much be the character of Penny Lane in Almost Famous. To do this, I need a couple of things that I do not have...
1. That jacket. (see above)
2. Long hair.
3. Skimpy, rocker top.
4. Those movie poster sunglasses.

I do not have any of these nor an easy plan for obtaining them.

Today I went to visit Elizabeth and Eric's first radio show of the year. It was fun to hang out with them again. It was also fun to browse through the new music. Hey radio station staff! Where is the new, about-to-be-as-big-as-modest-mouse music that the station should possess? By this I mean Rilo Kiley's new album and especially the velvet teen.

Huckleberries, $34.50 per gallon. Oh, how I long for you.

Oops. What did I do? I pushed enter and this hello thing posted for me. Oh well. I have tons of excited news that I've been wanting to tell the world about. I got my internship testing water samples at a nearby creek. Rock out. Tony made it possible by offering his car to me. Thanks Tony! As an official chemistry major, I got a key to the science building. That means slumber parties in the science building. Oh! I was given a specialty show at the radio station. I can't wait for my radio show this Sunday. 9-11 AM! What else? Y.A.C.H.T. and the Blow were here this weekend. I think I have fallen in love with Jona so I bought his CD. He amd his music are so awesome. I also talked to Karina yesterday who just got back from Italy. Hmm.. I guess that's it. That was a boring journal entry. Ooo, I also commissioned Audrey and Melissa to sew me a strawberry coin purse. I'll post photos of it after I pick it up. More news of happiness due to material gain later.  Posted by Hello

Hi happy people. I am very happy lately. This will only persist until next Friday when I have a psych paper and an instrumental exam on the same day. As you can see, I put up the photo thread that I promised weeks ago. Soon there will be photos of our room and the outside of the house.  Posted by Hello
