bah
Even the internet cannot seem to save me. I am feeling unhappy and angry lately. I am staring at my computer trying to think of something that will cheer me up, but I cannot. Instead, I am just losing sleep. I guess I sent my recommendations to my professors too late because none of them have gotten them yet due to vacations. There is really little I can do about this now. My parents are stressing me out because they are upset at me for being so unhappy. Too bad. I feel guilty already for feeling so sorry for myself.

Eric and I are leaving for Thailand soon. I'm not sure if I am that excited anymore. I am stressed out about getting all this grad school stuff done before I go and about buying all the things I need to take. Also, the lame-o vans store does not carry my dream shoes. Now, I have to search around at specialty shoe stores or pay more and order them online. Did you know that the Beach Boys originally called themselves the Pendletons after their Pendleton wool shirts? That fact alone has made me determined to own their vans slip-ons.

I have never come so close to literally hyperventilating before until I quit my job this week. I need to learn how to deal with people and not let myself be pushed around.

I did get to see Sylvia, Sharon, Karina, and Xi last week. We gossiped and drank tea for 3 hours at garden cafe. During lulls in conversation, Xi would ask gossipy questions about our high school classmates. At one point, he told us that he was glad that we are all still thin. We all shot him dirty looks. That was the highlight of the evening.

To make this post more interesting, I will mention that this year was a bad one for good music. The only album I can really think of to put on a top 10 or 50 list is TV on the Radio's Return to Cookie Mountain. What else was there? Oh, Beirut. I looked up pitchfork's list just because I know they have one and they did not put Beirut on it at all. Come on. That guy is good. Tiny Mix Tapes lists Beirut as #25. They are more credible anyway.

If you try to call me on new year's, this is notice that I am going to be hiding out. No fun or happiness is allowed to seep into my world tomorrow.
